Their responsibilities may include setting up audio equipment, recording events, managing sound during live performances, and supporting faculty or staff with technical audio needs. This role provides valuable hands-on experience with professional audio equipment and software, helping students develop practical skills for careers in sound engineering or related fields. The position usually offers flexible hours to accommodate academic schedules.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a work study audio engineer?

To thrive as a Work Study Audio Engineer, you need a foundational understanding of audio production, acoustics, and basic recording techniques, often supported by coursework or hands-on experience. Job description

Project Foreman (Integrations)

Cincinnati, Ohio | Full Time

About Access Audio

Access Audio is a faith-based, full-service production company based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Our Live Events division provides professional audio, lighting, video, and consulting for entertainment, corporate, nonprofit, and worship events.

Our Integrations division designs and installs permanent AVL systems in churches, schools, arenas, event centers, conference rooms, and camps.

We exist to serve our clients with excellence. That means best-in-class equipment, experienced and respectful team members, thoughtful preparation, and the creativity to make every system successful.

We care deeply about what we do and how we do it..

The Role

We are seeking a full-time Project Foreman to join our growing Integrations team. This role combines hands-on AVL installation with field leadership and project coordination responsibilities.

This is not a live event role. This position focuses on permanent AVL system installations and integration projects.

The Project Foreman leads crews on-site, coordinates with project managers and construction partners, and ensures that installations are completed safely, cleanly, on time, and to a high professional standard.  This is a “working coach” position.  The Project Foreman is leading and directing the work, but doing the work as well.  Hands on install experience is required.

We install AVL systems nationwide, and travel is required for this role. While project schedules will vary, we value work and life balance and strive to plan installations responsibly.

This position reports to the Director of Integration.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who leads with humility, takes initiative, and gets the job done.

Humility is the number one personality trait we value. We want a leader who works hard, treats others with respect, and fosters a healthy team culture on-site.

This role requires a true self-starter. You will be trusted to lead crews, solve problems, and move projects forward without constant supervision.  When problems are encountered, the Project Foreman develops solutions that focus on safety, client experience, and team well-being.

You should be comfortable running a team of installers while also working alongside them.

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • You’ll lead in the field: This role has real responsibility and real ownership on-site.
  • You’ll build incredible, clean, and permanent systems: Work that lasts.
  • You’ll grow with us: Our Integrations department is expanding, and this position offers long-term career growth.
  • You’ll work with a strong team culture: We value hard work, quality workmanship, and camaraderie.
  • You’ll travel with purpose: Projects vary, but we aim to balance excellence with sustainability for our team.

What You Will Do

Installation and Field Leadership

  • Lead a team of installers to install, program, commission, test, and troubleshoot audio, video, lighting, and control systems
  • Foster a healthy on-site culture that promotes hard work, quality workmanship, and teamwork
  • Install equipment alongside technicians while overseeing execution
  • Ensure proper installation techniques and professional finish standards
  • Regularly communicate project status to leadership and team members

Project Coordination

  • Lead coordination with clients, architects, general contractors, electricians, engineers, and the Access Audio team on smaller projects
  • Prepare upcoming jobs in the warehouse
  • Create Gantt charts and manage project timelines
  • Schedule labor for installations
  • Arrange rentals, transportation, and consumable needs
  • Track project costs and notify leadership of any overages
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What Success Looks Like

  • Installations are completed cleanly, safely, and professionally
  • Projects stay on schedule and within budget
  • Clients feel informed and confident throughout the process
  • On-site crews feel respected, supported, and well led
  • Systems are installed correctly, tested thoroughly, and commissioned properly
  • You are happy and have a good work/life balance

  • Excellent communication skills with leadership, coworkers, contractors, and clients
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lead and motivate a crew
  • Self-starter mentality with strong problem-solving skills
  • Customer service mindset
