Job description

DynaTen is seeking a Startup Manager to join our Construction team! This is a critical position responsible for leading the creation of a Startup and plan and team. This is a critical role for planning, executing and ultimately overseeing project startup and commissioning support so our delivery is of high quality and to our customers' standards. The role of the Startup Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize startup plans for all construction projects according to the project plans, specifications, and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Create a detailed plan for the execution of mechanical equipment and system startup and commissioning on commercial, industrial, healthcare, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing projects.
  • Oversee the startup of mechanical and/or plumbing equipment for all construction projects to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design specifications, budget, and schedule.
  • Review project plans and specifications, build project startup plan, make recommendations of potential cost-saving measures, and identify potential construction problems.
  • Complete job cost breakdowns, schedule of values, and review / approve project billings
  • Work with Project Management Teams, vendors, and subcontractors to coordinate project schedules for execution of the startup and commissioning plan.
  • Review equipment submittals, construction documents & specifications, and develop project specific startup and commissioning support plan.
  • Coordinate and hold regular project startup and meetings in conjunction with the DynaTen Project Team to implement and execute the startup and commissioning support plan effectively.
  • Coordinate with field superintendents on manpower needs, adjusting as needed.
  • Conduct and attend pre-construction and post construction meetings
  • Manage multiple projects startup needs with varying scopes simultaneously.
  • Continuous communication with Project Team, GC, owner, and others as needed.
  • Complete all required documentation electronically
  • Oversee and continuously monitor project site safety for all involved at the site
  • Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned
  • Supervise and schedule startup technician schedules
  • Coordinate training and processes for startup technicians

Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience on commercial mechanical or plumbing construction projects including healthcare, medical gas, educational, institutional, military and others required.
  • Startup and Commissioning of projects ranging in size and scope from $25M+ preferred.
  • Experience leading direct reports required.
  • Experienced with project Testing, Balancing, and Commissioning Teams.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Required aptitude on construction
  • Have a positive attitude, be professional and self-motivated
  • Ability to work as both an individual contributor and a team player

Working Conditions

Must have the ability to perform the duties above in a non-controlled environment. This will include climbing ladders, working on ladders and elevated surfaces, maintain in good working conditions, tools, materials, and equipment required to your work area. Working exposed to the elements during (when required) at all times of the year. All employees are required to always wear PPE and always follow Safety procedures.
