Job description

The Solutions Architect job family supports the design, delivery, and modernization of payment platforms and related technology solutions. Roles within this family partner with business, operations, risk, compliance, and engineering teams to translate operational needs into scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that strengthen payments capabilities. As scope and level increase, responsibilities progress from supporting defined solution activities to leading complex architecture, modernization, partner integration, and transformation efforts across legacy and target-state platforms. This job family plays a critical role in enabling scalable partner onboarding, operational stability, process efficiency, and adoption of modern technologies, including automation and AI-enabled workflows.

Senior Solutions Architect
  • Serve as solution architect for complex payments initiatives, translating business and operational needs into scalable technology solutions.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders, operations, risk, compliance, and engineering teams to understand problems, assess tradeoffs, and develop technology-driven solutions.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery from problem definition through implementation, including requirements, solution design, testing coordination, launch readiness, and operational handoff.
  • Drive modernization of legacy payment and data platforms by advancing target-state architecture, reducing process fragmentation, and improving scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
  • Enable scalable BaaS and partner integrations through standardized interfaces, reusable patterns, clear onboarding procedures, and aligned operational support models.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage automation, monitoring, and AI-enabled patterns to improve operational efficiency, issue detection, and exception management.
  • Ensure solutions include appropriate data controls, reconciliation, auditability, security considerations, and regulatory alignment.
  • Balance operational stability, support, continuity, platform modernization, scalability, and efficiency across payments priorities.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in banking, financial services, payments, enterprise technology, or solution architecture.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations and payment processing flows, including ACH, checks, wires, reconciliation, controls, and exception handling.
  • Experience designing and delivering end-to-end technology solutions across requirements, architecture, testing, implementation, and operational handoff.
  • Proven ability to work closely with business users to solve operational and strategic problems and recommend scalable technology-driven solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate business impact, technical tradeoffs, solution recommendations, and implementation considerations.
  • Experience with BaaS, fintech integrations, partner onboarding models, vendor dependencies, or scalable platform integration strategies preferred.
  • Familiarity with core banking systems such as Horizon or similar platforms and their role in payment processing, data movement, and operational workflows.
  • Awareness of automation, AI-enabled monitoring, anomaly detection, or operational intelligence use cases in banking operations.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and building scalable, resilient architectures.
  • Deep understanding of data lake and data warehouse architectures (preferred: data bricks), including ingestion, transformation, and distribution patterns.
  • Strong programming capability in Python and/or Java for building scalable services, pipelines, and integrations.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC processes, DevOps practices, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and release governance.
  • Ability to design platform-agnostic, reusable, and scalable solutions that support multi-partner onboarding and evolving business needs.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted software development, automation tools, and intelligent workflows.
Travel Requirement

This position requires some travel to support business needs, including team collaboration, internal trainings, and cross-functional initiatives. The frequency and duration of travel will vary based on organizational priorities and team needs.
