Job description

Position Overview
The Ready-Mix Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of company products and materials. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintains equipment in good working order, and provides excellent customer service during deliveries and pickups. The position requires a high level of safety awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to varying work conditions and schedules.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities (Essential Functions)
  • Responsible for the safe and secure transportation of products to scheduled destinations.
  • Operate trucks for the delivery, pickup, and relocation of products and materials.
  • Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations assisting with unloading product.
  • Inventory products and record after every race event.
  • Keep track of all permits, licenses, and insurances and notify the office before any expiration.
  • Complete daily driver log according to State and Federal law.
  • Verify load versus load sheet prior to departure.
  • Records quantities and descriptions of the product being returned.
  • Contacts Fleet Safety Coordinator with estimated leave time from destination
  • Operate all Material Handling Equipment as required.
  • Observe and notify management and contracted maintenance provider of anything that needs service performed.
  • Must be able to receive electronic dispatches via personal smart phone
  • Always maintain work area, truck and equipment in a safe and clean condition.
  • Responsible for abiding by and supporting all company safety policies, rules and procedures as well as OSHA regulations.

Required Skills and Abilities
  • Valid CDL license and current medical card.
  • Current endorsements as required by DOT regulations.
  • Ability to maintain required certifications and endorsements (DOT, OSHA, MSHA, company safety programs).

Education & Experience
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience

Other Qualifications
  • Knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving techniques.
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain equipment at all times.
  • Willingness and ability to make overnight runs as needed.
  • Ability to learn and operate all company Material Handling Equipment.
  • Capability to perform heavy manual tasks under varied weather conditions.
