Job description

Nichols Research is an established national marketing research company headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area.
We are currently seeking Work-From-Home Telephone Interviewers for temporary project-based work during September and October.
Important - Please Read Before Applying
This is a temporary, project-based position and is not a traditional Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM position. Work availability is based on our active research projects, and hours may vary from week to week and are not guaranteed.
We anticipate our highest staffing needs during the following project periods:
  • September 29 - October 4
  • October 21 - November 1

Additional interviewing hours may be available between these dates depending on project needs; however, candidates should understand that our primary need for additional interviewers will be during the dates listed above.
As a Telephone Interviewer, you will conduct computer-based market research surveys, ask respondents their opinions on a variety of topics, and accurately record their responses. We are looking for outgoing, professional, articulate individuals who can work independently in a remote environment.
Topics covered in our surveys include current events, healthcare, customer satisfaction, politics, media usage, consumer products, and more.
Important: We are ONLY hiring applicants who currently reside in one of the following states:
Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
Applicants who do not currently reside in one of these states will not be considered. Please do not apply if you live outside of these locations.
As a Telephone Interviewer, You Will:
  • Place outbound calls using our VOIP telephone software
  • Explain the purpose of the survey and answer respondent questions
  • Read computer-based survey questions clearly and verbatim
  • Accurately record survey responses
  • Clarify vague or incomplete responses when appropriate
  • Follow all survey and data collection procedures

This position does not involve sales, collections, fundraising, or telemarketing. There are no sales quotas, and compensation is not commission-based.
Paid training is provided.
Compensation & Scheduling
  • Starting pay ranges from $11.00 to $14.00 per hour
  • This is a temporary, project-based position
  • Hours are based on project needs and may vary from week to week
  • This is not a guaranteed 40-hour-per-week position
  • Our greatest need for interviewer availability will be September 29-October 4 and October 21-November 1
  • Additional hours may become available between these project periods
  • Pay increases may be available based on production and availability
  • Work is supervised remotely by experienced supervisors
  • Calls may be monitored for quality assurance and training purposes
  • Prior telephone interviewing or call center experience is a plus
  • Spanish bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply

We provide the software needed to conduct calls from your computer. You will not incur telephone charges while working.
