A Work From Home Ophthalmic Scribe is a remote professional who assists ophthalmologists by documenting patient encounters in real time. They listen to and transcribe doctor-patient interactions, input medical histories, exam findings, and treatment plans into electronic health records (EHR) systems. This role helps improve efficiency by allowing doctors to focus more on patient care. Strong medical terminology knowledge, typing speed, and familiarity with ophthalmology-specific terms are essential. Many employers provide training, but prior experience in medical scribing or ophthalmology is often preferred.
