Job description

Job Summary
The Business Process Analyst will play a key role in documenting, standardizing, and improving processes across the Finance, Accounting, Operations, Contracts, and Procurement functions within our Government Contracting (GovCon) organization. This role will support the development of enterprise-wide process documentation-including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flow charts-and help ensure compliance with GovCon regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong process documentation skills, experience with MS Visio, a working understanding of GovCon financial operations, and familiarity with AI tools that can optimize workflow and documentation efforts.
Primary Job Functions
  • Develop and maintain centralized library of detailed process documentation including SOPs, work instructions, flow diagrams and process maps using MS Visio, AI Tools and other applications for Finance, Accounting, Operations, Contracts, and Procurement.
  • Facilitate interviews and working sessions with process owners, SMEs, and cross-functional stakeholders to capture requirements and understand current state processes.
  • Analyze current-state workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist in designing future-state processes that align with compliance requirements and organizational goals.
  • Ensure documentation complies with GovCon standards (FAR, CAS) and supports audit readiness.
  • Partner with Finance leadership to establish process ownership, standard handoffs, control points, and documentation consistency.
  • Support the integration and use of AI tools to accelerate documentation, automate processes, and enhance workflow analysis.
  • Contribute to change-management efforts, including communication, adoption support, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with ERP, IT, and operational teams as needed for process alignment and system-related impacts.

Education, Experience and Certification
Required:Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
Preferred: 3+ years of experience in business process documentation, process analysis, and workflow design.
Preferred: 3 + years of experience supporting Finance, Accounting, or Contracts functions within a Government Contracting (GovCon) environment.
Preferred: 3+ years of experience working with GovCon ERP systems such as JAMIS, Deltek Costpoint, or Unanet.
