Job description

As a Material Planner I, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the seamless flow of materials throughout the product lifecycle. This entry-level position will allow you to gain experience in material planning, supply chain management, and manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with various teams to meet production and delivery schedules, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations - with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) reviews and maintain accurate revision control within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Assist in creating and processing sales orders, manufacturing orders, and purchase requisitions/purchase orders.
  • Allocate raw and finished goods to meet basic production and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor material levels and report potential shortages and scheduling delays.
  • Support firm planned, released, and in-shop manufacturing orders to ensure continuity in production operations.
  • Identify and assist in resolving material and scheduling issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align and execute supply chain schedules.
  • Develop and maintain basic supply chain schedules for optimal order and delivery planning.
  • Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to plan and control inventory, production, and procurement activities, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field of study.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 4 years of related experience is required.
  • Basic understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Exposure to the engineering change process.
  • Basic understanding of master production planning.
  • Basic understanding of Supply Chain Management and Logistics.
  • Familiarity with applicable manufacturing drawings.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Internships or co-op experience in Aerospace, Defense, or related industries.
  • APICS certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with Program Management.
  • Technical/Engineering degree.
  • Strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) as it applies to Supplier Management.
  • Experience with MRP and/or ERP systems.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Essential Functions:
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Requires standing for a significant portion of the work shift.
  • Ability to work in a noisy manufacturing environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Must be able to work in an office or hybrid environment.
