Job description

The Route Sales Driver is responsible for maintaining existing customer inventories, resolving customer inquiries and problems, processing orders and provide ongoing support.
Other job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Physically take inventories on schedule of existing customers, obtaining PO to maintain optimum inventory levels.
  • Maintain inventory storage areas of existing customers; labeling, organizing and cycling inventory.
  • Handle questions about product, prices, availability, and product uses falling within established limits of authority and knowledge.
  • Process incoming orders for designated territory. Up-sell when possible & alert territory representative of activities and incoming orders.
  • Coordinate with the Company’s outside sales representatives to determine customers’ needs and preparation of samples as needed.
  • Investigate and expedite product claims and complaints in accordance with company policies and assist to resolve problems and recommend corrective action. Provide ongoing support.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports on activities, sales volume, expenses, etc.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, and/or associate’s degree (preferred) with at least two years related experience and/or training.
  • Requires the ability to operate various office equipment to include a computer, voice mail, copier, fax, calculator, and plotter. Requires the ability to operate with various software such as word processing, spreadsheets and database.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents.
  • Ability to manage extensive travel.
