Hooker Furnishings, in its 101th year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Finish Repair teammate to join our team in our Hickory, NC location.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform touch ups and repairs on leather upholstery as well as repairs on wood finishes as items come off the production line.
  • Component replacement - Replace or repair furniture components such as legs, handles, hinges, etc.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, including materials used and time spent, for inventory and reporting purposes.
  • Properly use and maintain tools and equipment's necessary for furniture repairs.
  • Inspect work for quality and consistency in accordance with company standards.
  • Assist in other areas as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Candidates that would be a great fit:
  • Skilled in leather upholstery and repair, with experience in touch-up techniques, upholstery repair, and wood finish tough up-experience.
  • Proven background in furniture with strong knowledge of furniture construction and materials.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools for repair and finishing work (certifications in upholstery and refinishing are a plus)
  • Effective problem-solving skills; able to work independently under right deadlines.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Team-oriented attitude and communications skills for collaboration with a strong work ethic.

Shift: Monday to Thursday 7am - 4:30pm & Friday 7a-11a
Pay: Depends on experience
