What does a wood carpenter do?

A wood carpenter specializes in constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made primarily from wood and other materials. Their work can range from building frameworks such as walls, floors, and doorframes to crafting custom cabinetry, furniture, and decorative woodwork. Carpenters use a variety of hand and power tools to measure, cut, shape, and join wood with precision. They often read blueprints, follow building codes, and collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills are essential for producing high-quality work.

Which wood carpenter job pays the most?

Experienced master carpenters or specialized wood carpenters working in high-end construction, custom cabinetry, or historic restoration tend to earn the highest salaries in the carpentry field.
