Job description

Title: Assembler

Location: Burton, MI

Pay Rate: $18.54 (First Shift) - $2 Premium for 2nd and 3rd Shift

What You Will Be Doing

  • Assemble walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, plastics, drywall and composites of multiple materials.
  • Measure and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from Supervisor.
  • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
  • Use various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects.
  • Ensure the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as tape measures, levels, framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
  • Fit and install windows and doors.
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What Requirements Are Needed

  • Ability to understand directions and read blueprints.
  • 2+ years of experience as a skilled carpenter, drywall technician, framer, or general laborer required.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • Experience working with different carpentry materials, and understanding of carpentry techniques/methods of installation construction.
  • Good understanding of basic math and ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Walking/Standing/Bending for long periods of time.
