Are you passionate about caring for patients and supporting families during one of the most important experiences of their lives? As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Obstetrics Unit at The Women's Hospital, you'll play an essential role in providing compassionate, patient-centered care to mothers, newborns, and families throughout their childbirth journey.
Working alongside a highly skilled team of nurses and healthcare professionals, you'll help create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for growing families while gaining valuable experience in a specialized area of healthcare.
What You'll Do
As a valued member of the care team, you'll provide hands-on support that promotes comfort, safety, and positive patient experiences. Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting patients with personal care needs, including bathing, oral hygiene, toileting, and linen changes
  • Supporting patient mobility, repositioning, and transfers
  • Monitoring and documenting vital signs and patient observations
  • Accurately recording important information in patient charts
  • Providing compassionate emotional support to patients and families throughout their hospital stay

  • Couplet care, allowing mothers and newborns to remain together while receiving coordinated care
  • Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support patients with unique medical and obstetrical needs
  • A strong commitment to family-centered care that addresses the emotional, physical, and psychosocial needs of each family
