Job description

The Digital Marketplace Strategist is a key cross-functional role within the Digital Merchandising & Marketplace team responsible for program management and operational success for all of JD Finish Line's drop ship and same day delivery programs. This individual is responsible for new vendor onboarding, post go live support including vendor relationship management, new item set-up, program performance, and results reporting across the organization. This individual should effectively exhibit JD Finish Line's core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do while performing the following main duties:

  • Works cross-functionally on all assortment management activities, especially with the supply chain, IT, merchandising and digital teams.

  • Assists in the end-to-end onboarding for new drop ship suppliers.

  • Communicates new season and in-season assortment updates for item setup within digital teams (merchandising, photo, copy) for all suppliers ensuring timely execution.

  • Communicates with suppliers on inventory related inquiries and product availability.

  • Liaison between Same Day Delivery partners and internal cross functional teams to ensure seamless partnership experience in store and through back end processes

  • Identify Same Day Delivery product collections based on seasonal priorities and customer trends. Responsible for uploading to the storefronts and ensuring timely go live and accuracy.

  • Manage store launch tracker and temporary store closings with Same Day Delivery partners.

  • Provide alternate images to live on Same Day Delivery storefronts.

  • Serves as the go-to person for day to day drop ship assortment questions and inquiries on product availability.

  • Creates and maintains weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting for Drop Ship and Same Day Delivery programs, providing performance insights and recommendations.

  • Provides real time assortment reporting (style count, category depth, inventory availability, supplier counts etc.), as well as inventory lookup and communication to key stakeholders across the organization

  • Identifies assortment gaps based on customer and behavioral analytics (search, null search, navigation) to capitalize on chase opportunities.

  • Identifies and communicates drop ship products offering marketing opportunities to cross-functional teams including digital operations, digital merchandising, brand and marketing teams.

  • Ensures quality by defining photography standards and processes.

  • Ensures process alignment with suppliers in terms of data availability and extraction (Dsco, partner website etc).

  • Responsible for product launch management, including key dates are properly communicated cross-functionally, as well as validation of success to meet customer experience standards after a new product goes live.

  • Reviews Drop Ship grids for pricing discrepancies and sends to cross functional partners for resolution to ensure margin integrity.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and 3 - 5 years of experience in the customer facing digital/eCommerce space; candidates with JD Finish Line experience strongly preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Computer and Technical Skills

Should have intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Google Suite equivalents, and strong knowledge of computer and web/digital technologies, software, and applications.
