Job description

COLSA Corporation is seeking a Network Architect (Journeyman) to support the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Webster Outlying Field (WOLF). In this role, you will provide networking engineering expertise to mission-critical systems and communications networks supporting Department of Defense customers. Provides network engineering expertise for Integrated Systems Networks (ISN) by maintaining and operating the components needed for enterprise connectivity, functionality, and security that enable business and mission systems. This role ensures reliable, compliant, and high-performance connectivity across cloud, corporate, and secure environments. Up to 50% remote work may be authorized; candidates must reside within 50 driving miles of NAWCAD Webster Outlying Field (WOLF). * Design, configure, maintain, and support enterprise network infrastructure across cloud and on premises environments, including hot and cold site architectures. * Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking technologies, including BGP (iBGP/eBGP), OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, VXLAN, OTV, VLANs, Spanning Tree, and switching/aggregation. * Perform advanced troubleshooting to identify and resolve complex network, routing, switching, MAC address, VLAN, and application connectivity issues. * Configure and support service provider routers, WAN connectivity, and enterprise network infrastructure. * Implement and maintain secure network communications using firewalls, security appliances, VPNs, IKE, IKEv2, IPsec, and MACsec. * Support cloud networking and integration with enterprise network infrastructure. * Support Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) architectures and understand the implementation of CSfC connectivity packages. * Monitor network performance and recommend improvements to optimize reliability, security, and availability. * Develop and maintain network documentation, standards, and technical procedures. * Develop basic automation scripts using Python and Ansible to automate routine network administration tasks. * Collaborate with cross functional teams to support infrastructure projects, system implementations, and operational requirements. * Ensure compliance with organizational cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices. Learn about our employee-centric culture and benefits here: https://www.colsa.com/culture_benefits Required Experience * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. * Minimum of five (5) years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cloud networking. * Active TS/SCI security clearance required. * Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network architectures across hybrid cloud and on premises environments. * Hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies, including routing, switching, VPNs, SD-WAN, firewalls, and cloud networking (Azure Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, and Private Endpoints preferred). * Experience implementing network security solutions, including Zero Trust architecture, network segmentation, and encryption standards. * Experience using network monitoring and diagnostic tools to maintain network performance, availability, and reliability. * Experience supporting geographically distributed organizations with multiple locations and remote users. * Experience working in regulated or security-focused environments. Preferred Qualifications * Experience supporting SCIF or secure facility network environments * Familiarity with CSfC and Type One encryption methods * Attained industry recognized certifications such as CCNP, CCNA or some subset of those certifications (Cisco routing and switching, for example).
