Job Summary:
$60K start incentive, insurance on your first day, malpractice with tail, PSLF Program!
The Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine division at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA, is seeking a board-certified/eligible physician with the desire to do advanced procedures, to enhance its growing Pulmonary Critical Care team. This full-time opportunity combines outpatient pulmonary care, inpatient pulmonary/critical care, and optional sleep medicine.
Job Duties:
Key Responsibilities:
  • 1 week ICU: 12-hour days (7 days; mostly days. Some swings/nights).
  • 2 days off post ICU
  • 1 week inpatient consults, studies, etc: 8-hour days (5-7days; days only). Call from home
  • 2 weeks clinic, tele consults and fellow clinic: 8-hour days (volume: 12-14 patients/day). Blocked PFT reading time of 1 hour/day
  • Typical clinic day consists of 6 hours of patient contact time and 2 hours of administrative discretionary time
  • Opportunity to participate in clinics focused on ILD, PH, COPD, Respiratory Failure and Inspire

Procedures & Teaching Opportunities:
  • Perform scheduled procedures: EBUS at a minimum. Other procedures:
  • navigational bronchoscopy, Bronchoscopic Lung Volume Reduction (BLVR), bronchial valves, ION robotic bronchoscopy, endobronchial biopsies, plus further advanced procedures program development
  • Teach residents, fellows and medical students
  • Participate in scholarly activities, committees, and research as well as interdisciplinary programs with Tumor Board (Thoracic Surg, ENT and Oncology)
  • Receive both clinical and academic titles upon start at Geisinger College of Health Sciences
