JOB SUMMARY

The Shipping & Receiving Freight Coordinator is responsible for managing inbound and outbound freight, coordinating transportation logistics, and ensuring accurate and timely movement of goods. This role serves as a key point of contact between carriers, vendors, and internal teams to maintain efficient warehouse operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments (LTL, FTL, parcel)
  • Communicate with carriers, brokers, and suppliers to arrange pickups and deliveries
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, shortages, or damages
  • Verify shipping and receiving documentation (BOLs, packing slips, invoices)
  • Ensure accurate inventory transactions in the warehouse management system (WMS)
  • Maintain freight cost tracking and assist with cost control initiatives
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage and report discrepancies
  • Prepare and process outbound shipping documents and labels
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and transportation regulations
  • Support warehouse operations including loading/unloading as needed

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics coordination
  • Knowledge of freight types (LTL, FTL, expedited, parcel)
  • Experience with WMS, ERP systems, or shipping software
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills with carriers and internal teams
  • Forklift experience (preferred but not required)
