Blue Yonder Job Title: Sr Solution Architect (Warehouse Management Systems)
Location: Virtual within the US
Travel is expected within the US at 50% - 75%
Overview
Core responsibilities focus your efforts as the lead functional consultant for Warehouse Management System (WMS) solution implementations for customers across the Americas region.
In this role, you will design best-in-class solutions using a suite of products in the Warehouse Management space, as well as being on the leading edge with our latest product innovations.
You will be the functional liaison across of key stakeholders, including key customer contacts, Project Managers, Technical Consultants, and 3rd Party Consultants, to drive the timely and successful delivery of the final solution.
What you'll do
  • Drive the design, optimization, and implementation of Warehouse Management System (WMS) software solutions for customers, utilizing industry best practices and process methodologies
  • Apply domain knowledge to fully understand and identify how WMS solutions can be configured and delivered to best meet customer requirements/business processes
  • Lead requirements-gathering and design workshops with customer operations, IT, and executive stakeholders, translating warehouse business processes into functional designs
  • Configure and validate core warehouse functions including receiving, putaway, replenishment, wave planning, picking, packing, shipping, cycle counting, task management, labor management, and yard/dock operations
  • Define the integration approach between the WMS and ERP, OMS, TMS, host, and parcel/carrier systems, including interface specifications, data mapping, and message flows (EDI, XML, APIs, flat file)
  • Guide integration with warehouse automation and floor technology, including MHE/WCS/WES, conveyor and sortation, RF devices, scanners, printers, and labeling
  • Lead solution design to ensure clear construct and validation tasks and timeline
  • Own data migration and master data readiness, including conversion approach, validation, and reconciliation
  • Conduct and/or guide system integration, user acceptance testing and deployment phases of the project to ensure a seamless transition to our steady state associates
  • Lead cutover planning, mock cutovers, go-live execution, and post-go-live hypercare through transition to steady state support
  • Author and maintain project deliverables including functional design documents, configuration specifications, test scripts, cutover plans, SOPs, and training materials
  • Deliver end-user and super-user training and drive knowledge transfer to customer operations and support teams
  • Sustain the balance between project scope, timeline, and requirements to ensure successful time to value and definitive customer satisfaction
  • Assess business needs that fall outside the standard solution and/or scope, and assess integration complexity, architecture constraints and/or product roadmaps
  • Mentor and coach junior consultants and partner/offshore resources, and contribute to reusable practice assets, accelerators, and implementation methodology
  • Support pre-sales and scoping activities including solution demonstrations, effort estimates, and statement of work input
  • Recognize and highlight incremental revenue opportunities with existing customers/projects
  • Communicate business cases to PMG and PD regarding customer specific needs related to product functionality and enhancements

What we are looking for
Industry and Product Experience:
  • Minimum 8 years of specific experience working within tier-1 Warehouse Management Systems, either as a customer running a WMS or as a consultant implementing WMS solutions for customers
  • Hands-on configuration experience across multiple full-lifecycle WMS implementations, including at least 5 engagements as functional or solution lead
  • Experience delivering WMS in a cloud/SaaS model, including release management, regression, and upgrade considerations, preferred
  • Additionally relevant solutions consulting and implementation experience with other leading warehouse management and supply chain execution solutions such as Körber (formerly HighJump), Manhattan Associates, SAP EWM, or Oracle WMS Cloud is a plus
  • Current or prior experience working in a management consulting organization or Supply Chain Center preferred
  • Direct warehouse or distribution center operations experience, or equivalent time spent on the DC floor, strongly preferred
  • Experience in automated DC environments (MHE/WCS/WES, sortation, ASRS, AMR) preferred

Skills:
  • Strong business analysis skills, with the ability to translate warehouse operational processes into system configuration, functional design, and measurable performance outcomes required
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational data structures sufficient to analyze, validate, and troubleshoot system behavior
  • Familiarity with integration patterns and message formats including APIs, EDI, XML, JSON, and flat file, and the ability to review interface designs with technical teams
  • Understanding of distribution center performance measures such as inventory accuracy, throughput, order cycle time, and labor productivity
  • Experience delivering within Agile, waterfall, and hybrid methodologies
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations for user, management, and executive level audiences. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills required

Education:
  • Advanced degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics or Operations Research preferred
  • Bachelor's degree and relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degree

Work environment and physical requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods while observing operations, particularly during testing and go-live events
  • Adherence to customer site safety requirements, including personal protective equipment

The annual salary range for Sr Solution Architect level position is $120,000 - $143,000.
The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
