Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced construction manager who has a background in the telecommunications field. The construction manager will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. This role requires effective communication, team leadership, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships. You must also have experience in fiber construction (aerial and underground).

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of telecom infrastructure construction projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project coordination
  • Manage project budgets, cost estimates, and resource allocation to achieve cost-effective project outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections during and after the completion of work to ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, identify deviations from plans and take corrective actions as required
  • Coach, mentor, and provide guidance to team members, promoting their professional development and growth
  • Supports the recruitment and hiring process for crew and team members
  • Provide regular updates to clients and upper management, addressing any concerns or changes as needed
  • Accountable for conducting performance evaluations and providing guidance to team members
  • Collaborates with safety and quality managers to address and resolve safety and quality concerns
  • Assists in facilitating weekly meetings involving staff, subcontractors, and safety, and is capable of leading them when required
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a construction manager or project manager within the telecom field
  • Background in fiber construction (aerial, splicing, underground)
  • Experience with as builds
  • Ability to lead field teams
  • Exhibits strong critical thing abilities
  • Displays effective conflict resolution skills
  • Leads by positive example, and ensures tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Proficiently utilizes Microsoft Office Suite and various other construction and financial software applications
  • Readily travels to various sites as necessary
  • Deciphers and comprehends construction maps, drawings, and diagrams
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Capable of passing a pre-employment drug test and background check
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English)
  • Undergraduate degree
  • CDL License
