Precision Resource seeks an experienced WIRE EDM Technician to join our well-established Vernon Hills, Illinois manufacturing division. We're approximately 30 miles north of Chicago and 30 miles south of Kenosha, Wisconsin. We're a small-medium sized division of our solid, privately held, global company that innovates and manufactures a high volume of metal parts for automotive, aerospace, hardware and other industries. Summary
The WIRE EDM Technician will be responsible for setting up and monitoring our 3 late model GF Wire EDM machines.
Qualifications
  • At least 2+ solid years of Wire EDM experience. Machine programming ideal but not required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of English and Metric systems of measurement.
  • Knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection equipment and techniques.
  • Ability to make computer entries and read and follow written technical instructions.
  • Outstanding quality and attention to detail to achieve for high-precision requirements.
  • Must be able to work independently but also collaborate and communicate well with others.
  • Achieve excellence starting at $26-$34 hourly with annual pay increases and bonus potential. Additional 10% of base rate for 2nd Shift if preferred.

Essential Duties
  • Set up and monitor Wire EDM machines for performance, making adjustments to maintain productivity and quality.
  • Perform routine checks and machine troubleshooting.
  • Inspect parts and adjust machine as needed to maintain quality standards.
  • Maintain required documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineers and Tool Room.
  • Follow all safety and housekeeping requirements
