POSITION OVERVIEW

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Municipal Courts currently has full-time employment opportunities available for individuals who are self-motivated, customer service-oriented, pay attention to detail, and possess strong organizational skills. As an official of the Court, your responsibilities may include the following:
  • Collection of fines, processing payments by cash, check, credit card and wire transfer. Process Parking Payments and schedule hearings.
  • Data entry of payment and fees in the Court's case management system.
  • Act as a Passport Application Acceptance Agent by executing the passport application, ensure that the application form and supporting documents are correctly submitted, and collect passport fees.
  • High level of direct contact with the general public, attorneys, court staff and law enforcement. Dissemination of court information as required.
  • Data entry of court records and transactions.
  • Scanning of court documents into the Court's case management system. Periodic rotation to alternate Court locations and/or sections.
  • Other administrative and customer service-related responsibilities as assigned.
  • Must submit to annual and on demand background checks
  • All candidates must be able to successfully pass CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) certification, which includes fingerprinting and a full criminal background check, as a condition of employment. Continued employment in this position requires maintaining CJIS background check clearance at all times.
WORKING CONDITIONS
General office setting. May require long periods of standing or sitting at a computer terminal and interacting with citizens in person and also by telephone. Must be able to work rotating weekends and/or holidays as needed. Must be able to travel to another court location on short notice.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REOUIREMENTS
Requires a high school diploma or a GED.
EXPERIENCE REOUIREMENTS
Six (6) months of administrative or customer service-related experience is required.
Substitution: An associate's degree may be substituted for the experience requirement.

PREFERENCES
Preferences may be given to candidates that are:
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Familiar with Court System Management and Resource Technology (CSMART) and its functionalities; that have documented heavy cash handling experience; heavy customer service experience as well as knowledge of court policies and procedures; and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Three (3) years of cash handling, administrative or customer service-related experience is preferred.

**Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6**.
