About the Role
We're looking for a reliable Accounting Specialist (contractor or part-time) to support our US financial operations. This role is focused on execution and accuracy - ideal for someone who is comfortable handling recurring accounting tasks independently while coordinating with external partners and internal stakeholders.
You'll work closely with our external accounting firm and Japan headquarters, ensuring that all financial processes run smoothly and deadlines are consistently met.
Core Responsibilities
  • Send monthly customer invoices and manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule
  • Perform monthly book close in coordination with our external accounting firm
  • Process vendor invoices and rent payments via wire transfer
  • Manage business documentation and state filings through CT Corporation
  • Partner with our Japan headquarters to develop and maintain the annual budget
  • Handle annual and semi-annual compliance tasks including 1099/W-2 filing, business insurance, corporate tax filings, and required corporate documentation
  • Lead the fiscal year-end close process to ensure accurate and complete financial records

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar role
  • Experience handling payroll, invoicing, and basic financial operations
  • Familiarity with US compliance requirements (e.g., 1099/W-2, corporate filings)
  • Experience working with external accounting firms or tax advisors is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage recurring deadlines independently
