Overview
The Department Team Lead will Manage execution of daily Production Schedule, prioritization of jobs and training of work force while continuing to inspect FWM products and maintaining on-time delivery to customers. They will actively engage and lead team to develop and maintain a continuous improvement environment as part of the management team.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3- 5 years' relevant experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  • Help create and maintain an effective team environment.
  • Communicate responsibilities, job assignments and prioritizations to employees to maintain department efficiency.
  • Coordinate and participate in team meetings in order to share information and expectations.
  • Ensure standard safety and environmental procedures and practices are followed and help maintain the safe work environment, including 5S audits.
  • Edit and keep training scripts and work instruction revisions up to date.
  • Coordinate/manage departmental vacation schedules
  • Create and maintain a continuous improvement culture from within FWM. Engage and drive employees to participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • May participate in wire drawing; help maintain quality and on-time delivery.
  • Assure that material flow of department is sufficient.
  • Collaborate with Area Supervisor to meet departmental needs.
  • Monitor the training and performance of all employees to ensure employees are competent in performing their jobs.
  • Conduct evaluations and address performance deficiencies and initiate corrective action.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Skills Needed

  • Ability to perform basic computer functions.
  • Possess intermediate math, reading, and writing skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude, preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good hand dexterity.
  • Understand and apply safe work practices

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Minimal travel necessary.
  • Work hours consist of 40-50 hours per week.
  • Fast paced production environment.
  • May work with and around hazardous chemicals.
  • Appropriate PPE must be worn where posted and required.
  • Exposure to fluctuating temperatures may occur.
  • Apply safe work practices
  • Minimal time spent working at desk.
  • Average weights in production range from 10-25 lbs. Maximum weights may exceed 75-80 lbs. on occasion.
  • May be required to perform work above shoulder height.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, lifting and squatting.
