A Winter Guard Assistant Instructor is responsible for assisting the Winter Guard Instructor with coaching and guiding a group of students in a performing arts team that combines elements of dance, flag spinning, rifle tossing, and saber choreography, typically performed indoors during the winter season.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and communicate a compelling artistic vision for the winter guard, ensuring visually striking and cohesive performances.
  • Design and choreograph routines that complement the guard's musical selections, enhancing the overall performance.
  • Provide comprehensive instruction in dance, flag, rifle, and baton techniques, ensuring students develop strong foundational skills.
  • Conduct regular rehearsals, focusing on precision, coordination, and expression to achieve high-quality performances.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment, encouraging teamwork, discipline, and artistic growth.
