Job description

Winpak Films is seeking a Lead Operator to join our Production team on day shift (8 am - 8 pm / rotating 2/2/3 shifts) in Senoia, GA. In this role, you will take the lead in overseeing extrusion operators, ensuring safety, quality, and production standards are met. You will serve as a role model for operators, provide hands-on training, and support process improvements to achieve team and departmental goals. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced extrusion operator looking to advance into a leadership path toward Shift Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support Extrusion Operators to meet daily production, safety, quality, and scrap reduction goals.
  • Perform quality checks, monitor equipment performance, and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality policies, including proper use of PPE and 5S housekeeping standards.
  • Conduct ongoing training for operators on machinery, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Assist with line operation, order changes, SWFL checks, and minor mechanical adjustments as needed.
  • Support the Shift Supervisor by reporting hazards, conducting audits, and helping implement departmental initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary knowledge source for operators and foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Extrusion Operator at Winpak Films or equivalent industry experience.
  • Knowledge of extrusion equipment, production processes, and safety procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members and leadership.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs frequently, stand/walk 80% of the shift, and work in a 12-hour rotational schedule (36/48 hour rotation).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as a Level 3 Winpak Operator or equivalent technical experience.
  • Previous leadership experience or proven ability to guide and train team members.
  • Experience with MES transactions, troubleshooting production processes, and quality audits.
  • Familiarity with 5S and continuous improvement practices.

  • Shift: 12-hour rotating shift
  • Work Environment: Climate-controlled production area with high attention to safety and 5S housekeeping.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
