What does a wine store manager do?

A Wine Store Manager oversees the daily operations of a wine retail store, ensuring excellent customer service and efficient sales. Their responsibilities include managing inventory, supervising staff, selecting products, organizing promotions, and maintaining compliance with local alcohol regulations. They also provide wine recommendations to customers, manage budgets, and build relationships with suppliers. Strong product knowledge and leadership skills are essential in this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a wine store manager?

To thrive as a Wine Store Manager, you need strong retail management experience, in-depth wine knowledge, and often a certification such as WSET or a similar credential.
