What are wine spirits?

Wine spirits, also known as distilled wine or brandy, are alcoholic beverages produced by distilling wine. This process increases the alcohol content and concentrates the flavors, resulting in a spirit that is typically enjoyed as an after-dinner drink or used in cocktails. Common types of wine spirits include cognac, armagnac, and grappa. These spirits are often aged in oak barrels, which imparts additional complexity and character.
