Job description

Position Summary:

The Liquor Coordinator manages all aspects of liquor inventory, ordering, compliance, and distribution within liquor stores. This role ensures locations are well-stocked, cost-effective, and compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. The Liquor Coordinator works closely with staff, vendors, and management to maintain high standards of product quality, storage, and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management
    • Monitor and maintain accurate liquor inventory records.
    • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile variances.
    • Ensure proper storage, rotation, and labeling of all alcoholic beverages.
  • Ordering & Vendor Relations
    • Prepare purchase orders based on par levels, consumption trends, and upcoming events.
    • Build and maintain relationships with liquor distributors and suppliers.
  • Compliance & Documentation
    • Ensure all liquor handling complies with federal, state, and local laws.
    • Maintain up-to-date licenses and permits required for liquor purchasing and service.
    • Track and document transfers, waste, breakage, and usage for audit purposes.
  • Operational Support
    • Coordinate liquor deliveries and oversee accurate receiving procedures.
    • Support liquor store and bar staff with product knowledge and best practices.
  • Cost Control & Reporting
    • Monitor liquor costs and margins, identifying opportunities to reduce waste or overpouring.
    • Generate inventory and usage reports for management review.
    • Assist with forecasting and budgeting for liquor purchasing.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in bar operations, inventory management, or purchasing.
  • Strong knowledge of liquor products, brands, and regulations.
  • Proficiency with inventory software and point-of-sale systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move boxes and kegs (up to 50 lbs) and work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with liquor store and bar operations.
  • Familiarity with cost control and liquor store/bar profitability practices.
