The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America's premier luxury wine company, with eleven wineries, ten state-of-the-art winemaking facilities, five tasting rooms and over 2,200 coveted acres of vineyards spanning 37 Estate properties. Established in 1976, when vintners Dan and Margaret Duckhorn founded Napa Valley's Duckhorn Vineyards, today, our portfolio features some of North America's most revered wineries, including Duckhorn Vineyards, Decoy, Kosta Browne, Sonoma-Cutrer, Goldeneye, Calera, Greenwing, Paraduxx, Migration, Canvasback and Postmark. The Wine Specialist hosts our members and guests on a variety of tasting options, from seated tastings to more intimate and in-depth private experiences. The Wine Specialist engages, educates, and entertains wine enthusiasts of all levels, has an appreciation for the diverse wine and food culture, and suggests other luxury offerings within the same wine region. 

This position is full time and located at our Goldeneye Winery in Philo, CA.


What we will ask you to do:

  • Champion exceptional hospitality creating a culture of “yes” for guests and coworkers alike. 
  • Work as a unified team to achieve wine sales and club membership sign-up goals.
  • Educate guests about our history and wines, including knowledge about all brands offered in The Duckhorn Portfolio. 
  • Host unique, educational tastings for all guests including Trade and VIP groups, providing engaging tours as directed. 
  • Maintain tasting room presentation, cleanliness, inventory, and daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, reservations, phone calls, and requests for local recommendations.
  • Stay current on wine industry trends, reviews, and regional wineries to enhance guest recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Events, Marketing, and tasting room teams to support events and business needs.


What you will need:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Minimum 6 months wine industry or hospitality experience preferred. 
  • Knowledge of general winemaking and viticulture techniques or strong willingness to learn. 
  • Ability to acquire specific knowledge about The Duckhorn Portfolio. 
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Basic computer skills, including POS and reservation systems. 
  • Ability to work weekends and select holidays.
