Understanding these differences helps in choosing the right career path or service provider.

What safety precautions are typically in place for window washers working on high-rise buildings?

For window washers working on high-rise buildings, strict safety protocols are enforced to protect workers from falls and other hazards. These include the use of personal protective equipment such as harnesses, helmets, and non-slip footwear, as well as secure anchoring systems and regularly inspected scaffolding or platforms. Regular equipment checks and adherence to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines are standard practices to ensure a safe work environment.

A window washer is responsible for cleaning the interior and exterior surfaces of windows on residential, commercial, or high-rise buildings. Their tasks often include removing dirt, grime, and stains from glass, as well as cleaning window frames and sills. Window washers may use various tools such as squeegees, scrapers, and cleaning solutions, and may need to work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or suspended platforms. Safety is a crucial aspect of the job, especially when working on tall buildings. Regular window washing helps improve the appearance of buildings and ensures that windows remain in good condition.
