What are Window Treatment Designers?

Window Treatment Designers are professionals who specialize in creating and selecting window coverings such as drapes, blinds, shades, and shutters to enhance the appearance and functionality of windows. They work closely with clients to understand their aesthetic preferences, privacy needs, and budget, then recommend suitable materials, colors, and styles. These designers often measure windows, provide custom solutions, and coordinate installation to ensure a perfect fit and finish. Their expertise helps improve a room's ambiance, energy efficiency, and overall interior design.

Job description

Window Treatment Designer + Studio Support | Westlake Village, CA About the Role

Do you thrive on the details—knowing that great design isn’t just about how something looks, but also how it works? Are you energized by meeting new people and closing projects, but also love building efficient systems that make work flow smoothly? Do you want to work in a company that values hustle and results as much as talent and creativity?

If so, this role is for you.

Our Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village showroom is the centerpiece of the Skyline brand—a place where clients experience the possibilities of design. As a Window Treatment Designer, you’ll blend salesmanship with design expertise, bringing ideas to life for clients while ensuring every project is executed with precision. This role is fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and supported by dedicated marketing and operations teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead in-home consultations and showroom appointments, designing window covering solutions tailored to each client’s space and lifestyle.
  • Build strong client relationships through a consultative, hospitality-driven approach.
  • Translate design principles into functional, aesthetic solutions that elevate a client’s home.
  • Support the showroom experience—ensuring it reflects brand standards, inspires clients, and drives measurable results.
  • Monitor KPIs, propose solutions, and contribute to an organized, high-performance studio environment.
  • Coordinate consultations, manage new leads, and create seamless hand offs throughout the customer journey.

Who You Are

  • A natural closer—assertive, confident, and motivated by hitting (and exceeding) goals.
  • A relationship-builder who thrives on face-to-face client interactions and delivers a luxury-level experience.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and analytical—you track progress and love improving systems.
  • Tech-savvy—you embrace digital tools that streamline workflow and communication.
  • A team player who thrives in a fast-moving, collaborative, small-business environment.
  • Someone who sees challenges as opportunities and has the drive to solve them.

Growth & Opportunity

At Skyline, we invest in your career. From personalized training and mentorship to exposure across design, sales, and business operations, this role is a launchpad for growth. We value entrepreneurial spirit and welcome candidates from adjacent industries (interior design, custom furniture, textiles, technology, advertising, etc.) who bring a fresh perspective.

About Skyline

Skyline is more than a window covering company. We are a premier Hunter Douglas dealer and a design-driven brand on the cutting edge of interiors. Our team is passionate, solutions-focused, and united by a shared mission: to deliver excellence at every step of the client journey.

  • A proven ability to balance creativity with business results.
