Job description

Glazier and Door & Window Service Technician Job Summary

Our company is seeking an experienced Glazier (Glass Installer) to perform maintenance and repair work on our high end residential projects throughout the city. The ideal candidate must be able to work well with minimal supervision. You also need to be able to travel to different service sites. Applicants should have relevant job experience with installation, inspections, repairs, and maintenance of residential glazing of doors and windows, as well as skills in carpentry, hardware installation.

Glazier Duties and Responsibilities

  • Travel to various service locations as needed
  • Remove and install residential double doors and windows
  • Service and troubleshoot glazing panels, doors, windows and hardware
  • Prepare for and complete scopes of work, closely following job specifications, code requirements, and safety standards
  • Photograph job site conditions and document daily work activity and completion
  • Maintain inventory of tools and equipment in your care and ensure they are in working order at all times
  • Communicate with customers, construction team, and supervisors

Glazier Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate and training through an apprenticeship or job
  • Certification through The National Glass Association a plus
  • Prior experience with glass installation and door and window repair
  • Knowledge of glass types and the different materials required for glass repair and installation
  • The ability to use glazier hand tools and equipment to measure, cut, and shape various materials for repair or maintenance
  • The ability to apply re-glaze, adhesives, or putty to doors, glass areas, and window sashes
  • An understanding of company safety protocols and the ability to adhere to these standards
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Mechanical aptitude
