Position Overview

The Installation Team Leader is responsible for serving as the primary contact person for the in-market installation team members and is to direct work processes while at the jobsites. The position leads the install team to install new Pella windows and doors in both new construction and replacement applications and will be involved in recovery situations. The Installation Team Leader also strives and inspires others to achieve and maintain 100% "Very Satisfied" customers. Participates with members of the management team in developing strategies to ensure the business' continued growth and profitability. Works with other business leaders to improve the overall customer experience.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities includes the following but not limited to

Responsible for leading the daily work of non-exempt employees on the jobsite. This may include, but is not limited to, selection, training, performance evaluation and development, skill assessment, and all other misc. items that are involved in leading this group.

Responsible for 2-5 direct reports in the Installer Apprentice, Installer or Lead Installer roles

Reads work order form and other specifications to determine method of installation, work procedures, and material, tool, and work aid requirements.

Confirms jobsite suitability for the install process and provides photos and documentation when applicable if not suitable.

Removes existing and installs new windows and doors to walls/openings, according to the installation guidelines published by Pella Corporation and within the quality standards established by Pella Corporation.

Ensures Lead Safe Installation Practices are followed as needed.

Ensures finished installation of materials (jamb extension, trims, drywall, coil, etc.) meets quality standards.

Responsible for timely execution of the installations of window and doors and hardware

Cleans job site after installation.

Communicates effectively with customers and serves as a reputable Pella representative on all jobsites.

Demonstrates a commitment to the highest quality of work.

Works in a way that prevents damage to product.

Ensures that all product/material removed from the warehouse has been scanned by warehouse personnel.

Ensures that warehouse personnel and/or material coordinator is alerted to any product/material returns.

Uses, maintains, and stores company provided tools appropriately.

Performs installation recovery work following installations.

Meets company safety requirements by keeping work area neat and clean, following safety precautions, and wearing required safety apparel (i.e., shoes, safety glasses, fall protection, etc.), and reporting any safety issues to the Installation Supervisor.

Special Projects as assigned

Must have a valid driver's license and follow the company Fleet Safety Policy.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior knowledge of general construction applications and terminology and window & door applications and components is required. Prior experience with power tools is required. Contractor's License preferred not required. Remodeling and/or window and door replacement experience is required.

Language and Communication Skills

Excellent verbal and written English language skills are required as well as good instructional/teaching, and customer service skills. Ability to read, interpret, understand, and explain documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to others, gather information from others, and respond appropriately to questions from employees, managers, co-workers, agents, customers, and the public. Must be able to resolve conflict in the best interests of the business and our customers. Must display excellent phone and email etiquette, and the ability to communicate in a professional manner. Must be able to make eye contact and present appropriate persona for the situation when interacting with fellow employees or waiting on a customer/visitor in person on a regular and consistent basis.

Mathematical and Reasoning Skills

Ability to subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform calculations using units of money, time, measurement, etc. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, length, width, height, and depth.

Must have ability to solve practical problems without close supervision. Must be able to determine appropriate resolution in dealing with employee concerns and questions and set appropriate boundaries. Must possess good thought processes, problem-solving skills, and investigative theory. Must always be able to use sound judgment and make objective decisions in the company's best interest. Must be able to demonstrate ability to synthesize people and events, problem solve, and engage individuals in effective conversation.
