Job description

The LVDT Winding Technician is responsible for the oversight and support of LVDT winding area operations. This role includes basic troubleshooting of winding machines, tooling, and test stands. The technician regularly analyzes production and test data to optimize winding programs using Microsoft Excel and MATLAB. This position may also provide support by testing parts and training new test operators as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Production Supervisors, and Production Operators.
  • Proactively monitor winding operations on the production floor to minimize scrap and improve production efficiency.
  • Determine the root cause of winding and testing issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze production and test data trends to make appropriate modifications to winding programs.
  • Utilize in-house databases to understand existing LVDT testing methods and requirements.
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of work instructions and manufacturing processes.
  • Assist operators with machine setup for winding machines and test stands.
  • Troubleshoot testing operations to ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal process requirements.
  • Verify test stand accuracy and setup prior to testing, making adjustments as necessary to achieve specified test results.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, assembly routes, test specifications, customer requirements, and quality directives.
  • Verify production assembly and testing procedures and recommend process improvements to achieve desired performance and quality results.
  • Train and mentor new testing operators as required.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience analyzing data using Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Proficiency in using scales, calipers, and other basic measuring instruments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related technical field.
  • Experience using MATLAB.
  • Basic programming experience (G-code, C++, or similar programming languages).

Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrates sound technical judgment when evaluating in-process product conformance and making informed decisions regarding continued production based on engineering specifications and downstream acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to professionally resolve conflicts and work collaboratively to achieve production, quality, and operational objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Compensation: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour based on experience
