Job description

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Windchill Data Migration Specialist with strong expertise in PLM systems, data migration, and Windchill environments. The candidate will play a key role in managing end-to-end data migration projects, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry standards (medical devices preferred).
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute large-scale data migration projects within Windchill PLM environments.
  • Work on data extraction, mapping, transformation, and validation activities.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define migration requirements.
  • Utilize Windchill Business Migration (WBM) tool and other Windchill data migration utilities for smooth migrations.
  • Perform site consolidations and manage data across multi-site environments.
  • Migrate CAD data and engineering documents into Windchill PLM.
  • Develop and maintain scripts/automation solutions to optimize migration processes.
  • Ensure best practices, data quality, and compliance during migration (especially for regulated industries like medical devices).
  • Support issue resolution, testing, and validation during and after migration.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and documentation throughout migration projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 8-12+ years of hands-on experience in data migration projects, preferably in a Windchill environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windchill PLM domain, data model, workflows, and configurations.
  • Experience in migrating data from Non-PLM to Windchill environments.
  • Proficiency with Windchill Business Migration (WBM) tool.
  • Hands-on with Windchill migration utilities, site consolidation tools, and processes.
  • Knowledge of CAD data, engineering document management systems, and PLM data structures.
  • Solid understanding of data migration methodologies and best practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, JavaScript) for automation.
  • Strong data mapping, transformation, and validation skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Preferred / Nice to Have
  • Experience in Medical Devices domain.
  • Relevant certifications in Data Management or PLM.
