At Wilson School District, we believe that education should be shaped by a sense of purpose. As the Maintenance/Transportation Worker, you help ensure students have access to high quality education by providing direct maintenance, transportation, minor maintenance, supply delivery and cleaning to maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment. Custodian $16.00-17.00 per hour (depending on experience)

This is a full-time position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance). This position is a traditional school year position (10.5 month). Custodial/cleaning experience is required; qualified candidate will also be required to operate heavy machinery

JOB SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor, Under the supervision of the Night Lead Custodian, is responsible in cleaning the physical plant, classrooms and other areas. Responsible for minor maintenance to the building as related to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting and equipment maintenance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform scheduled housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and neat appearance at all District locations.

Assume specific housekeeping duties such as: a) Vacuuming and cleaning b) Dust mopping c) Dusting d) Wet mopping e) Cleaning glass f) Washing and cleaning exterior walkways g) Waxing h) Buffing i) Painting j) Stripping k) Shampooing KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to lift heavy objects. Ability to work without supervision. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with associates.

Working knowledge about industrial equipment. Basic knowledge of housekeeping care. Good physical health.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED.
