Job description

General Description The LPN position at the Transitional Living Facility with William R. Sharpe Jr. Hospital participates in interdisciplinary meetings to organize structured individual client groups to address weekly activities to include recreational, leisure and daily living skills.

Observe, report and document consumers behavior, attitudes, physical condition and participation in treatment for attaining basic skills for living in a community. Interacts effectively, encourages and reinforces therapeutic treatment to facilitate obtainment of life skills. Transports consumers to appropriate places.

Oversee activities and perform duties necessary to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly living and working environment for clients and community. Participates in formal training programs to develop knowledge and abilities required to meet the needs of the consumer. Provides basic nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse and program director.

Must have a valid driver's license. Performs related duties as required. Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position.

Applicants selected must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug testing and alcohol testing for probable causes as set forth in agency and bureau policies. Applicants selected must successfully complete a background check.

This is a tobacco free campus. This position is eligible for an appointment incentive of $7,500.00 to the selected applicant who agrees to work for the facility for a minimum of twelve (12) months. 0512P00856 Minimum Qualifications Education: None

Sharpe, Jr. Hospital, located in Weston, West Virginia, is a 200-bed acute psychiatric care facility owned and operated by the West Virginia Department of Health Facilities. William R.

Sharpe, Jr. Hospital holds accreditation from The Joint Commission and certification by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS). The hospital offers a wide range of services to patients either committed to the hospital through civil commitment or, in the case of forensic patients, ordered through the judicial system.

Through ongoing collaboration with West Virginia University's Department of Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry, a variety of medical and clinical professionals partner with the hospital's own staff to work diligently with patients to achieve a smooth transition back to the community after discharge.
