The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is home to thousands of lakes and two primary rivers-the Kuskokwim and Yukon.

Position Summary: Works as a team member to serve WIC clients in the YK Delta. Initiates WIC certification for participants in the WIC office and offsite in village clinics. Collects certification documents, completes data entry, creates and updates files, faxes and copies program materials. In charge of monthly mailings and warrant printing. Explains program benefits and rules to clients. Ensure clients receive nutrition education as required. Provides health and nutrition assessment of height, weight, and hemoglobin. Keeps inventory and orders supplies. Function as a team member on other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum Experience: 1 or more years working in an office setting, preferably with patient or client interaction.
License, Certification, Registration: Infant CPR within 3 months of hire.
Equipment/Tools/Word-Aids: Computer, Hemocue machine, weighing scales, height board, telephone, and xerox.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Speaks the Yupik language. Good computer skills, knowledge of community resources, knowledge of laws regarding child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault. High degree of interaction with clients.
