Whitehall City Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Treasurer. The Board of Education seeks an effective and experienced leader in education and administration. It is preferred that the new Treasurer will begin TBD.

About Whitehall City Schools: The Whitehall City School District provides a safe, positive, student-centered environment focused on quality learning. The Whitehall Board of Education is committed to individual student achievement, growth, and development by providing a curriculum that is rich, varied, and designed to prepare students to become effective members of society. The district serves approximately 3,400 students and provides a wide variety of programming designed to meet the needs of a diverse population. These programs include a solid curriculum in core subject areas aligned with the state of Ohio's expected learning outcomes. Other services include: a full-day kindergarten program for all students; services for students who speak English as a second language; services for gifted and talented students; an after-school program for academic intervention and enrichment; services for students with special needs; and social work, counseling, and guidance services. Whitehall-Yearling High School students have the opportunity to take advanced placement classes as well as college classes from Columbus State Community College. Students at Rosemore Middle School can take classes for high school credit in math, English, and foreign language. Virtual learning classes for credit recovery are also available for students. The district is a charter member of the Eastland/Fairfield Career and Technical Centers, which provide career training programs for business, technology, agriculture, medical and dental assistance, trade, and industrial occupations. In addition, Whitehall Schools provides an award-winning fine arts program, including visual and performing arts and vocal and instrumental music.

Qualifications & Responsibilities: The Treasurer shall be able to demonstrate the following.

• Resource Management: Treasurer will establish and manage sound fiscal practices to support the educational process and assist with managing and prioritizing fiscal resources to align expenditures with District goals and available funding. The Treasurer will effectively manage district financial accounts including cash, budgetary, debt service, revenue and grant management.
• Effective Engagement with Key Stakeholders: Treasurer will work with the district superintendent and board of education with input from other stakeholders to review, develop, align and implement policies and procedures.
• Planning and Execution: Treasurer will create and execute a coherent plan with a limited, achievable number of goals and objectives. The Treasurer will provide financial oversight and analysis of fiscal implementation to the district support services and develop/monitor risk management practices to protect capital assets.
• Effective Communication: Treasurer will ensure that effective communication systems are developed, implemented, and maintained. The Treasurer will communicate effectively and openly while demonstrating a willingness to collaborate with internal staff, stakeholders, parents and the Board. The Treasurer will keep the public and staff informed about financial reports, five-year forecasts/trends, policies, progress, and financial challenges in the District's schools.
• Superior Management of Policies: Treasurer will assist in reviewing, developing, and recommending policies and governance procedures for the District that maintain a focus on the central goal ensuring the success of all students. The Treasurer will maintain compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws, rules/regulations, and district policies/procedures. The Treasurer will model and expect fairness, honesty and consistency in the performance of duties.
• Instructional Leadership: Treasurer will provide financial leadership to ensure that the District curriculum, instruction, and assessment programs are funded to provide full access and opportunity to all students consistent with available resources and legal mandates.
• Technology: Treasurer will promote the use of effective and appropriate technologies to support teaching and learning.

Compensation: Compensation for the new Treasurer is negotiable. The salary will not exceed $160,000. The Board will award other forms of compensation with the total package not exceeding $178,000. The Board will maintain pickup of retirement and Medicare for this position.
