Field Service Technician – CNC Machine Repair (Western PA)

A.W. Miller Technical Sales, Inc.

Pay: $35-$45/hour, plus overtime | Travel: ~100% regional travel across Western, PA (day trips + occasional overnight) | Tools, phone, and laptop provided

Location: Western PA Territory | Department: Service & Support | Type: Full-Time

About the Role

A.W. Miller is a premier supplier of CNC machinery and manufacturing solutions, partnering with leading builders like Mazak, Okamoto, FANUC, and other top-tier machine tool manufacturers. We're hiring a Field Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machines at customer sites across Western PA. You'll work independently in the field, with strong support from our service coordination team — diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues and getting customers back up and running fast.

What You'll Work On

•        CNC controls and platforms: FANUC, Mazak, Okamoto (multi-axis machines, lathes, vertical/horizontal machining centers)

•        Machine installs, commissioning, alignments, calibrations, and functional testing

•        Mechanical, electrical, and PLC/control troubleshooting and repair

•        On-site training for customer operators and maintenance staff

•        Service reports, parts usage logs, and job summaries

Day-to-Day

•        Travel to customer sites throughout Western PA (day trips and overnights as needed)

•        Work independently while staying connected with service coordinators and OEM contacts

•        Maintain your company vehicle and tool/parts inventory

•        Build lasting customer relationships through reliable, professional service

What You Bring

•        5+ years hands-on experience servicing CNC equipment (FANUC, Mazak, or similar strongly preferred)

•        Comfort reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting PLCs, motors, drives, and mechanical systems

•        Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience

•        Valid driver's license and a clean driving record

•        Willingness to travel throughout the Western PA territory, including occasional overnights

Nice to Have

•        Experience with automation — robotics, pallet changers, and similar systems

•        Comfort with MS Office and digital service documentation tools

What We Offer

•        Competitive pay with overtime

•        Tools, phone, and laptop

•        Medical, disability, and life insurance

•        401(k) with profit sharing

•        Paid time off and holidays

•        Ongoing OEM and in-house training

•        A supportive, team-focused environment where field techs are trusted to run their own territory
