Job Description

North 40 Outfitters in Great Falls, MT (West Location) is looking to hire a Full-Time Salaried Category Assistant Store Manager - Clothing & Footwear to join our team.  We believe that each team member plays a vital role in the success of our company.  We are looking for authentic and enthusiastic people who love our lifestyle and believe in service before self. 

As a Category Assistant Store Manager - Clothing & Footwear at North 40, you will be responsible for the customer experience and will ensure we exceed expectations. In order to succeed in the position, you will need to be an enthusiastic person who can optimistically handle a challenging and fast-paced environment. You should have experience and a passion for generating sales, safeguarding company assets, leading and developing a team and maintaining store standards.  Understanding and adapting to local culture is also crucial to your success.  A working knowledge of outdoor recreation, farm and ranch, animal health, tools, and hardware is a plus.

This full-time position requires the ability to work all scheduled shifts between the business hours of Mon-Sat 7 am to 7 pm, and Sunday 9 am to 5 pm.  As this is a managerial position it is not uncommon to work 50+ hours a week.  This shift can include working weekends and certain holidays and will require flexibility in scheduling based on business needs.

  • Working knowledge of clothing & footwear category
  • Previous retail leadership experience preferred
  • Ability to work well with others, lead, motivate and empower a team
  • Sales experience, merchandising, and computer skills a plus
  • Committed to providing feedback, developing others, and making decisions under ambiguity
  • A willingness to lead by example
  • Resolving team issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Ability to delegate and assign tasks appropriately
  • Skilled in leadership, sales generation, strategic planning, business acumen, time management and general retail software proficiency
  • Willingness to relocate if needed
  • Understanding of correct lifting and loading techniques.  Physical ability to lift and carry 0-15 lbs. continuously, 15-50 lbs. frequently, and 50-55 lbs. occasionally, and team lift anything over 55 lbs.  Spending 100% of work time on your feet, including use of ladders, rolling staircases and pallet jacks.
