Position Summary:

Provide direct nursing services, mental health assessments, and treatment to the people we serve with severe and persistent mental illness. You will obtain, record, and communicate important clinical information, and provide clinical services within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Department Specific Details: The Walk-In Crisis Center is open 24/7/365 and provides in-person mental health crisis care, information and referrals right when you need it the most. Our services are voluntary and available to people of all ages, no matter your insurance coverage or ability to pay.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Psychiatric Nurse I (LPN) - $30.12/hr - $31.62/hr
  • Psychiatric Nurse II (RN) - $39.06/hr - $40.56/hr
  • Psychiatric Nurse III (BSN) - $43.08 - 44.08/hr

The posted range represents the full hiring range. Offers will not exceed this range, the majority of candidates are placed near the midpoint based on experience and qualifications.

Job Duties & Functions:

  • Provide psychological problem identification, crisis interventions, and similar services to assigned patients.
  • Provide limited case management services to people we serve as needed.
  • Assist consumers with psychological and social development and rehabilitation.
  • Coordinate consumer's use of other WellPower programs and outside community resources.
  • Coordinate medical care and intervention with other clinical staff and psychiatrist(s).
  • Draw blood for lab work for patients.
  • Monitor consumer's vital signs.
  • Periodically provide community injections
  • Administer medications including intramuscular medications.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with WellPower standards.
  • Participate in team/organization meetings, in-services, and supervisory sessions as required.
  • Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

LPN

  • Graduation from accredited school of nursing. Licensed as a Practical Nurse in good standing with the Board of Nursing of the State of Colorado.

RN

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado. License must be in good standing.
  • Minimum two years nursing experience; experience in a behavioral health or outpatient clinic
  • preferred
  • Experience with the severe and persistently mentally ill or similar populations strongly preferred.

BSN

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Work Location: This is a on-site position at 4353 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO.

Physical Requirements: Standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, repetitive hand/finger motions, manual dexterity. Requires fine motor skills required for precise clinical procedures. Requires visual and auditory acuity to observe patient behavior and respond to alarms and calls. Requires a capacity to handle emotionally charged situations and maintain professional boundaries. Requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills for diagnosis and treatment planning, and to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing patient needs.
