Job description

At MJH Life Sciences our success is measured by your success! If you set your standards high and want to contribute to a winning team, we'll provide you with every opportunity to help grow our company and your career. Our associates come from all backgrounds, sharing one key quality: determination to succeed. We value being Service Focused, having a Passion for Winning, Innovation, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork. Nothing means more to us than hiring people with these attributes. If you believe you're right for the job, this is the place to prove it!

We are seeking a Benefits and Wellness Coordinator to administer and coordinate employee benefits programs, total rewards initiatives, and corporate wellness strategies that support employee well-being and organizational performance. You will manage day-to-day benefits operations, develop engaging internal communications, coordinate wellness programming, and support compensation and recognition initiatives - all while serving as a knowledgeable, responsive resource for employees navigating their benefits. This role is for someone who is detail-oriented, employee-focused, and uses AI to produce higher-quality communications, analyze program data, and handle administrative workflows more efficiently.

What You'll Do

  • Administer employee benefits programs including group health, dental and vision, flexible spending accounts, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits
  • Use AI tools to draft employee-facing benefits communications, wellness content, newsletter articles, and intranet updates - producing clearer, more engaging materials faster and at a consistently high standard
  • Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, resolving issues with providers and redirecting employees to appropriate resources when needed
  • Maintain accurate records in HRIS systems and ensure compliance with all applicable benefits regulations
  • Coordinate wellness activities and programs including fitness challenges, mental health workshops, and wellness fairs - managing logistics, communications, and follow-through from planning through execution
  • Monitor and evaluate wellness program effectiveness through participation metrics and employee feedback, using AI to analyze results and surface insights that inform future programming
  • Create engaging content for internal newsletters, intranet updates, and other communications channels that promote wellness initiatives and drive employee participation
  • Assist with coordination and execution of employee wellness and philanthropic efforts, including back-end administration such as tracking and processing
  • Support data entry, reporting, and analysis related to salary structures, market benchmarking, and pay equity initiatives
  • Assist in the execution and communication of total rewards initiatives including employee recognition programs, incentive plans, and other rewards strategies
  • Respond to routine HR questions related to benefits, payroll, and time off with accuracy and professionalism
  • Support the broader HR team in implementing programs that improve the employee experience, taking on meeting coordination, presentation preparation, and other administrative responsibilities as needed

What Sets You Apart

  • 1 to 2 years of administrative experience, preferably supporting HR functions, with knowledge of employee benefits, wellness coordination, or compensation strategies
  • An AI-native mindset. You actively use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot to draft benefits communications, build wellness content, summarize program data, and streamline administrative workflows - and you can speak to how they improve what you deliver to employees
  • Exceptional follow-through, attention to detail, and organizational skills - you manage complex, high-volume workflows accurately and nothing falls through the cracks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate benefits and wellness information into clear, engaging content that employees actually read and act on
  • Employee-focused and service-oriented - you handle every interaction, from routine questions to complex benefits issues, with professionalism and care
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality and discretion
  • Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and takes initiative without waiting to be asked
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field

AI Capability Expectation

Candidates should be prepared to discuss how they are currently using AI in their HR, benefits, or wellness coordination work. This includes:

  • Specific tools in active use and how they support benefits communications drafting, wellness content creation, program reporting, or HRIS data management
  • Examples of how AI has helped you produce clearer employee-facing materials, analyze participation data, or handle high-volume administrative tasks more efficiently
  • How you use AI responsibly when working with sensitive employee benefits and compensation information
  • Bonus: examples of AI-assisted communications, wellness campaigns, or administrative workflows that improved employee engagement, program participation, or operational accuracy

Compensation Range

$50,000 to $55,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Eligible for annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role. Compensation will depend on factors including educational background, skills, and professional experience.

Benefits Overview

We are proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Hybrid work schedule
  • Health insurance through Cigna (medical and dental)
  • Vision coverage through VSP
  • Pharmacy benefits through OptumRx
  • FSA, HSA, Dependent Care FSA, and Limited Purpose FSA options
  • 401(k) and Roth 401(k) with company match
  • Pet discount program with PetAssure
  • Norton LifeLock identity theft protection
  • Employee Assistance Program through NYLGBS
  • Fertility benefits through Progyny
  • Commuter benefits
  • Company-paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
