Purpose: The Community & ย ย Behavioral Services Healing Center is seeking a mental health professional to ย ย deliver outpatient clinical services to participants involved with our Tribal ย ย Court's Youth Healing to Wellness Program (ages 14-21). Healing to Wellness is ย ย a court-diversion program. The incumbent is responsible for the development ย ย of individualized, person-center, evidence-based treatment plans and services ย ย including group, individual, and family services, as clinically indicated, for ย ย each participant. They work with a multidisciplinary team that includes case ย ย managers, toward the goal of successful community reintegration and sustained ย ย recovery for all participants. An assessment is provided prior to acceptance ย ย into the program to determine if the program is an appropriate fit, and what services ย ย may be needed during their program involvement.ย 

Essential Functions. An ย ย individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with ย ย or without reasonable accommodation:

Deliver ย ย developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive ย ย interventions for adolescent and transition-age youth (14-21) with ย ย co-occuring disorders in Youth Healing to Wellness Court program.ย 

Conduct comprehensive, ย ย integrated bio-psycho-social assessments with treatment recommendations and ย ย DSM-V-TR diagnoses.

Conduct criminogenic ย ย risk needs responsivity assessments to identify risk factors, target ย ย treatment, ensure responsivity, match treatment intensity, and to address ย ย non-criminogenic needs.

Assist in identifying ย ย appropriate program participants with an understanding of program admission ย ย criteria.

Create individualized ย ย treatment plans to direct the treament team's services based on client needs ย ย and evidence-based practices.

Provide regular ย ย individual and/or family therapy sessions, reoccuring group therapy sessions focusing ย ย on recovery, relapse prevention, coping skills, and life skills necessary for ย ย successful community reentry and/or recovery.

Identify and utilize ย ย appropriate and relevant substance use/group curriculums.

Monitor client ย ย progress regularly and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure effective ย ย outcomes.

Maintain complete ย ย participant case files with timely documentation that complies with legal, ย ย ethical, and organizational standards.

Coordinate care with ย ย probation officers, community agencies, healthcare providers, and family ย ย members to support a holistic recovery and reentry process.

Plan and host or ย ย co-host community outreach, engagement and educational activities in ย ย collaboration with Wellness Court, commuity partners, and participants/families ย ย to promote awareness, prevention, recovery and culturally grounded wellness ย ย practices.

Participate in staff ย ย meetings, case consultations, and continuous professional development ย ย activities.

Ensure compliance with ย ย licensing, accreditation, and funding agency requirements.

Maintain working ย ย knowledge of theories, principles, and program guidelines in Behavioral ย ย Services including timely completion of all training and licensure ย ย requirements.

Assist leadership in ย ย providing support to the Wellness Court team through loss of ย ย participants/staff or participant relapse/etc. to contribute to a healthy, ย ย trauma-informed, and supportive work environemnt.

Adhere to HIPAA and 42 ย ย CFR confidentiality regulations.

Specialized experience ย ย in culturally responsive substance use disorder and mental health treatment

Knowledge of community ย ย needs, problems, and resources

Recognize and ย ย reinforce the inherent strengths of Alaska Native/ American Indians families ย ย and communities

Protect and maintain ย ย confidentiality of participants


Minimum ย ย Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

Master's Degree or ย ย higher in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, or related field

Two (2) years of ย ย clinical experience providing counseling services, preferrably with ย ย justice-involved individuals and/or substance use disorders

Strong understanding ย ย of trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices for recovery.

Must be 21 years of ย ย age with a Valid Driver's License


Preferred ย ย Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

Knowledge of the ย ย Tlingit and Haida cultures and traditions

Current ย ย clinical licensure in the State of Alaskaย 

Five (5) years of ย ย clinical experience providing culturally responsive counseling services to ย ย Alaska Native/American Indians

Flexibility with ย ย scheduling to meet clinical, programmatic, and collaborative needs, including ย ย the ability to occasionally flex hours within a workday (e.g., offering an ย ย evening appointment for a family), while not serving in on-call capacity.
