Job Summary
The Office of Student Accessibility Services is committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment for all students with disabilities. We are hiring a Testing Room Assistant who will report to the Operations Manager. This assistant will help administer testing accommodations for current students with disabilities, entitled to these services under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Accommodations may include extended time on tests, distraction-reduced testing, and stop-the-clock testing.
Job Description
Major Areas of Responsibility
  • Testing Administration
    • Proctoring tests for students with disabilities in accordance with SAS policies and faculty instructions.
    • Preparing testing space and materials during exam periods.
    • Monitoring testing environment to ensure academic integrity and testing room protocols.
    • Documenting and reporting testing issues, academic integrity, or emergencies to SAS professional staff.
    • Scanning, organizing, and securely returning completed examinations according to departmental procedures.
  • Administrative Support
    • Opening and/or closing the Testing Room daily.
    • Assisting students in scheduling their exams in the testing room through the SAS portal.
    • Communicating with students and faculty on testing room operations.
    • Maintaining accurate testing records and documentation.
    • Maintaining a clean and organized testing room environment. Ensuring supplies are well-stocked, including pencils, pens, Chromebooks, calculators, earplugs, etc.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance
    • Maintain confidentiality of student records and disability-related information in accordance with FERPA, ADA, and institutional policies.
    • Participate in required training and staff meetings.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Some postsecondary education and relevant experience.
  • Available consistently either in the mornings or afternoons.
  • Capable of maintaining professional interactions with college students, professors, and staff.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Possesses strong organizational and scheduling skills.
  • Strong commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming environment for individuals with disabilities.
  • Proficient with computers and peripherals, including email, scanning, and video camera recording.

Schedule:
Shift Available include -Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with extended hours during high peak testing times such as midterms and finals week. The schedule may include, but is not limited to, a total of 15 weeks per semester, both Fall and Spring semesters, for a total of 30 weeks during the academic year. The expected start date will be August 21, 2026.
