Job description

Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is looking for experienced MIG Welders to join our fabrication shop in Brown Summit, North Carolina. In this role you will work both independently and on a team with minimal supervision.

Schedule:

  • 1st Shift , 6:00am-4:30pm with OT as necessary

Location:5955 Summit Ave, Browns Summit, NC 27214, USA

Responsibilities:

  • Weld structural steel members using (MIG) wirefeed processes

  • Weld in 3G and 4G positions according to safety-oriented procedures

  • Read welding symbols and understand testing requirements

  • Follow proper safety instructions

  • Work in a team environment

  • Perform other duties as needed by supervision

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED or related experience as a certified structural steel welder as determined by the plant manager

  • Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required

Job Requirements/Special Skills:

Specific Structural Welding Skills:

  • Ability to pass a 3G and 4G weld test using GMAW process on 3/8" material

  • Good verbal communication skills with other employees

  • Positive attitude

  • Open minded with a vision for continuous improvement

  • Ability to understand weld symbols and testing requirements

  • Ability to read blueprints

Specific Physical Skills:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to step over and work on top of fixtures that are 28 inches off the floor when necessary

  • Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold and where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
