Description

This is a professional coaching position, and all the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of Montverde Academy. Coaching opportunities may include: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, or Weightlifting. The responsibilities of the position requires a part-time or seasonal schedule.
Responsibilities may include:
  • Communicate effectively with athletic administration, athletic staff, Academic deans, faculty, and various departments to ensure program and student needs are managed
  • Work in conjunction with the strength and conditioning coaches on program development for needs within the program
  • Monitor academic progress of students, supporting faculty and staff when needed
  • Represent the sports program to various institutional programs and externally to the media, students, parents and general public
  • Attend staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to provide a strong presence and high visibility within the program

Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit/walk for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, as well as stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Utilizes frequent operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Constantly uses speech and hearing to communicate to a diverse population
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department of the Academy's facilities
