We are in a state-of-the art expansion tower, which is home to our intensive care units, high intensity operating rooms, and the entire TCH Heart Center. There are currently 140 ICU beds in our relatively new Legacy Tower, admitting more than 6,000 critically ill children annually. The patient population includes all the pediatric sub-specialties including cardiac, trauma, oncology, transplant, pulmonary hypertension, ECMO, and all surgical subspecialties.

Job Duties
- Provide care for patients in any one of our ICUs. We have 92 PICU beds that are organized into a surgical ICU, a neuro ICU, a transitional ICU (specifically for medically complex children with home medical equipment requirements), and 3 medical ICUs (one specializing in pulmonary pathology and the other in Heme/Onc/BMT). We also have 46 CICU beds, including a neonatal CICU and dedicated Heart Failure ICU.
- During the day and night shift, the hospitalist(s) will be one of the front-line clinicians for the ICU patients.
- The hospitalist(s) will manage the patients under the guidance of the attending ICU physician. Specific responsibilities will depend on level of experience and Section needs.
- 14-16 shifts per month including nights and weekends. The schedule can be tailored to the individual's needs.
- PALS certification required
- Reporting to the Chief of Critical Care with supervision by Medical Directors of PICU and CICU
- The appointment will be at Baylor Faculty, with opportunities for academic promotion after a period of service.
Minimum Qualifications
- The candidate(s) must be board certified/board eligible in pediatrics and able to be licensed in the state of Texas.
