Job description

Performs mining operations within the shaft, including drilling, blasting, and mucking. Operates and 
maintains mining equipment, follows safety protocols, assists with shaft sinking and maintenance, 
and communicates effectively with team members

Minimum Qualifications:
 

Education: 
1. None
 

Work Experience:
1. 2-5 years' experience in a similar role.
 

Knowledge Required: 
1. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
2. Ability to multitask and work effectively.
3. Ability to safely use and handle a variety of tools, equipment, and materials. 
4. Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.
5. Ability to read and understand engineering prints (civil work, structural work, rock excavation work).
6. Ability to work as part of a project planning team.
7. Previous quality experience is required.
8. MSHA Underground miner training would be considered an asset.
9. Underground Mining experience would be an asset as would knowledge of applicable mine regulations pertaining to construction in mining. 
10.Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner.
 

Other Requirements:
1. Ability to pass background clearance check, drug screening and physical.
2. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
3. Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence.
4. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
5. Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
6. High level of attention to detail, neatness, and accuracy.
7. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Complies with and ensure compliance with Redpath's Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
2. Perform mining operations within the shaft, including drilling, blasting, and mucking.
3. Operate and maintain mining equipment such as drills, loaders, and hoists.
4. Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
5. Assist with shaft sinking, development, and maintenance activities.
6. Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
7. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.
8. Work closely with shaft leader and other team members to achieve production targets.
9. Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding mining operations.
10.Maintain cleanliness and organization within the shaft work area.
11.Participate in emergency response drills and procedures.
12.If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to be an eligible user of company vehicles. Must possess a current State Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
13.Comply with daily, weekly, and monthly safety directives, policies, and procedures.
14.Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information.
15.Able to work in excess of 40 hours a week, overtime, day and nights, weekends, holidays and shift rotations.
16.Compliance with Redpath Core Competencies is an essential duty and responsibility.
