Job description

Position Summary

This position is an experienced underground equipment operator.  Responsible for extracting coal safely and efficiently, using a variety of equipment and techniques.

Job Summary of Essential Duties

  • Ensure the company's "Absolute ZERO" safety culture is embedded in all work performed
  • This person must be self-motivated, skilled and dependable.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient production of coal and/or assistance in the production of coal in general work areas
  • Additionally, this person may be required to perform non-equipment operator tasks and duties such as shoveling, building/maintaining ventilation controls, assisting in various maintenance and repair duties on mine equipment and other manual related tasks and duties as needed.
  • Must safely, effectively, and efficiently work and respond to changing conditions within the mine
  • Must comply with company policies, federal and state laws, and regulatory standards

Minimum Requirements

  • Most possess a Valid West Virginia Underground Coal Miner Certification
  • Must have a minimum of 3-year underground mining experience
  • Required to safely operate at least two of the following underground mining machines; Scoop, Shuttle Car, Roof Bolter (Prefer Fletcher DDR or HDDR) or Continuous Miner.
  • Must be available to work overtime, weekends and holidays as schedule requires
  • Must be able to work a 4-week shift rotation
  • Must be able to work safely and effectively as a part of a team
  • Must be able to work on/near moving equipment as required by job
