Day Shift (6 a.m. - 4 p.m.). Schedule may change based on seasonal and operational needsย 

Wagesย startingย at $25.00/hr. Candidates chosen for night shift will receive shift differential pay.

Rogers Group is currently seeking an Experienced Underground Miner at Oldham County Stone, which is an underground mine in Crestwood, KY. This position is responsible for safely operating a variety of mining equipment while providing a safe working environment for all underground personnel.ย 

The successful candidate for this role will have experience operating mining equipment in an underground mining environment, and an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. General work around the quarry and other assigned duties may also be requested. Assigned duties will include:

  • Operate mechanical scaling equipment to remove hazardous ground conditions from mine walls and backs.ย 

  • Willingness to operate a variety of mining equipment in an underground environment such as scalers, roof bolters, loader, haul truck, drill, etc.

  • Inspect ground conditions and identify areas that require scaling or additional support.

  • Coordinate with mine supervisors and team members to follow scaling plans and procedures.

  • Document work performed and report ground control concerns to supervision immediately.

  • Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies

  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:ย 

  • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

  • At least one-year of proficient experience operating underground mining equipment - such as a roof bolter, face drill, or scalerย - is preferred.

  • Experience operating Fletcher 4250 Pick Scaler, EC350 with AQ4 Milling Head, or Komatsu PC360 with AQ4 milling head is preferred

  • Willing to work in an underground mining environment.

  • Able to operate underground mining equipment with precision and excellence in a confined space.

  • Must be able to work underground and outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

  • Ability to be coached and to pick up on new tasks quickly.

  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary.

  • Self-motivated - able to work without requiring close supervision.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug-screening.
